In The Lost Tribe,  I offer a fragmented torso as a metaphor for the world wide crises that the bees face: pesticides, disease bred from feeding on mono-crop:, and human engineered, forced migration. As if in desperation, hand embroidered bees swarm a human shaped-yet headless hive.

In Spoonful of Honey, albeit my hours spent in hand-embroidering these bees pale at the hours that the each bee spend in producing a spoonful of honey, I hope that their beauty, framed in each hoop/cell stirs the viewers. The Vanishing Bees installation visually explores the collapse of bee colonies. Each drawer of slides documents the increasing cases of lost bee hives reported since 2005.
